Workspace and account
Workspaces, projects, and team members
Separate clients and services safely, manage members and roles, and understand archive, export, and delete behavior.
Workspace versus project#
A workspace represents the organization, agency, freelance business, or operating team. Projects separate clients, websites, products, or service groups inside that workspace.
Plan limits apply per workspace and include resources across active, non-archived projects.
Create a project#
- Open Manage workspace from the left sidebar.
- Create a project with a clear customer or service name.
- Select the project before creating monitors, alerts, status pages, or reports.
Team members and invitations#
Invite only people who need access. Choose the lowest appropriate role and verify the intended workspace before sending the invite. Invitations continue into the intended workspace flow after authentication.
Archive a project#
Archiving makes the project read-only and removes it from normal active plan usage. Use archive when the data should remain available but normal active operations should stop.
Delete and export#
Export data before destructive deletion when it may be needed later. Project and workspace deletion can affect monitors, incidents, status pages, members, reports, billing state, and retained data. Read every confirmation and verify the selected workspace/project.
A workspace with an active renewing paid subscription may require cancellation from Billing before deletion.
Common mistakes#
- Creating client resources in the wrong selected project.
- Treating workspace limits as per-project limits.
- Sharing one project across unrelated clients.
- Deleting instead of archiving when history should remain readable.
- Inviting a member before checking the intended workspace and role.
